This 4-day trekking package is designed for travelers who want a truly complete and immersive journey through Mount Rinjani National Park, covering the summit, crater rim, volcanic lake, and natural hot springs. The route follows the classic trail combination detailed in our Mount Rinjani trekking routes, while adding extra comfort with a pick-up service the day before and an overnight stay in a cozy guesthouse before the trek begins.
Whether you’re arriving via airport or harbor, or traveling from anywhere across Lombok, our team will take care of all transfers and bring you to Senaru Village, your base for the night. Arriving early allows you to rest, settle in, and mentally prepare before stepping onto the trail the next morning.
Once you arrive in Lombok — whether at the airport, harbor, or your hotel — our team will greet you and bring you directly to Senaru Village. The journey from the airport normally takes around 3 hours. After checking in at your guesthouse, you’ll have free time to visit the waterfalls if you still have enough time and energy.
Senaru is famous for its stunning waterfalls:
Sendang Gile Waterfall – located at approximately 600 m above sea level, reachable by an easy 20-minute walk from the entrance.
Tiu Kelep Waterfall – about 1 hour farther upstream, with a beautiful trail crossing rivers and rocks. The final reward is a dramatic waterfall and a refreshing natural pool; locals even say that swimming behind the main fall can make you look a year younger!
Note:
Waterfall visits are not included in the trekking package. You may explore on your own, though hiring a local guide is advised.
Entry fee: IDR 20,000 / person
Local guide: IDR 200,000–300,000
At 7 PM, you will meet your guide for a short trekking briefing.
If you arrive late, the briefing can be moved to the next morning.
After breakfast (served from 06:00 AM), our driver will pick you up from your guesthouse between 07:00–07:15 AM for the transfer to Sembalun Village, the official starting point.
Before entering the trail, you will complete the mandatory registration at the Rinjani National Park Office (1,156 m). You’ll need:
Your Trekking Pass QR code
Your passport for verification
The trek starts gently, passing farmland, open savanna grasslands, and beautiful views of Sembalun’s rolling hills.
Important:
This section is exposed to the sun, so make sure to wear sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable clothing.
You’ll reach these main posts along the way:
Post 1 (1,300 m) – approx. 2 hours from the gate
Post 2 (1,800 m) – lunch stop with great views
Post 3 / Padabalong (1,800 m) – around 1.5 hours from Post 2
From Post 3, the trail becomes steeper as you enter the pine (casuarina) forest. Expect 3–3.5 hours of uphill hiking before arriving at Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m).
You should reach camp before sunset. Enjoy the golden-hour view with a cup of tea or coffee while the team prepares your dinner. Rest well — you’ll need your energy for the early summit push the next morning.
Wake up at 2 AM for the summit ascent. The climb takes 3–3.5 hours over steep and sandy terrain. Temperatures may drop to 4°C, so bring warm layers, gloves, and a headlamp.
Reaching the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m) rewards you with panoramic sunrise views stretching from Bali and Mount Agung to Sumbawa. After taking photos and enjoying the moment, descend back to the crater rim for breakfast.
Next, begin your descent into the crater toward Segara Anak Lake, which takes about 2–2.5 hours. Along the way, you’ll see beautiful views of the valley and Mount Sangkareang to the west.
At the lake, your porters will prepare lunch, while your guide takes you to the hot springs — a perfect spot to relax, soak, and recover. Lunch is usually served between 12:00–13:00, with views of Mount Baru Jari, the active volcano rising from the lake.
The rest of the afternoon is free for relaxing, enjoying the scenery, or even fishing. Dinner will be served around 6 PM.
Breakfast will be served at 7 AM. You will have time to enjoy the lake or visit the hot springs again before lunch.
Expect to leave the lake around 1 PM. The climb to Senaru Crater Rim takes 3–4 hours, following rocky paths along the cliffside. Although the terrain is rugged, it does not require any technical climbing skills.
Upon reaching the rim, you’ll be greeted with another spectacular panorama. On clear days, you can see the lake, summit, Gili Islands, Bali, and northern Lombok — the view is similar to the summit but from a different angle.
Enjoy sunset with tea or coffee while dinner is prepared, then relax at the campsite for the night.
After breakfast, begin the long descent through Senaru’s tropical forest. The trail is mostly shaded and includes several rest points. Under normal conditions, lunch will be prepared at Post 1 Extra.
After about 6 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at the Rinjani Trekking Center Office in Senaru — marking the end of the journey. Your car will be waiting to take you to your next destination, whether it’s a hotel in Lombok, the airport, or other onward travel.
Just pick your travel dates, select how many people are joining, and follow the booking form. You can secure your spot with a deposit or pay in full — whichever feels easier.
Sorry, not possible. A deposit is needed ahead of time because the team must arrange your trekking permit and insurance before you start the hike.
Of course! Simply message the team via WhatsApp or email. They can help complete your reservation manually without any hassle.
Yes, once your booking goes through, you’ll get an email confirmation. If it doesn’t show up, double-check your spam folder and mark their email as trusted.
Date changes are quite limited. Starting April 2025, permits can’t be rescheduled once issued. If you need a new date, you’ll have to purchase another permit and pay the additional fee per trekking day.
Cancellations are allowed, but all refunds follow the official cancellation terms. Make sure to read the policy so you know what applies to you.
Yes! Just mention your food preferences during the booking process, and the team will prepare meals that fit your needs during the trek.
Definitely. Any bags you don’t want to bring up the mountain can be stored safely at the office in Senaru for free.
Pickup is available anywhere in Lombok. The exact time depends on where you’re staying.
Pickup from the Gili Islands is also possible, but you’ll need a private speedboat at an extra cost.
Drop-off service is included. You can choose any location in Lombok — it doesn’t have to be the same place where you were picked up.
