This 3 Days 2 Nights Rinjani trekking package is the perfect option if you want to experience all the main highlights of Mount Rinjani National Park in one well-planned journey. It’s the shortest trekking duration that still allows you to explore the key destinations on the mountain, making it a popular choice for travelers looking for a complete yet balanced adventure, just like the experience described in Rinjani trekking adventure with local experts.
The full program runs for 4 days and 3 nights in total, including one night of accommodation before the trek begins. On your first day, you’ll stay at our cozy guesthouse in Senaru Village, with pick-up service provided from the airport, harbor, or anywhere in Lombok, so you can relax and get ready for the trekking days ahead.
10:00 – 15:00
Upon arrival at Lombok International Airport — or from any other area in Lombok — our driver will pick you up and transfer you directly to Senaru Village. The journey takes approximately 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
15:00 – 16:00
Check-in at the guesthouse and take some time to rest after the journey. This is a good moment to freshen up and enjoy the cool mountain atmosphere of Senaru.
16:00 – 18:00 (Optional)
If time allows, you may choose to visit Sendang Gila and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. Sendang Gila is an easy 20-minute walk from the entrance gate, while the walk to Tiu Kelep takes about one hour upstream through lush tropical forest and river paths. A swim in the natural pool is highly recommended if weather and time permit.
Note: The waterfall visit is not included in the trekking package and can be arranged independently. Entrance ticket is IDR 20,000 per person. Hiring a local guide is recommended, with prices ranging from IDR 200,000–300,000 per group.
19:00 – 19:30
Meet your trekking guide for a detailed briefing covering the trekking route, daily schedule, safety procedures, and equipment check. If you arrive late in the evening, the briefing will be conducted the following morning after breakfast.
After breakfast at the guesthouse, our driver will pick you up around 07:00–07:15 AM and transfer you to Sembalun Village, the official trekking gate of Mount Rinjani National Park. Before starting the hike, all trekkers are required to complete final registration at the Rinjani National Park Office in Sembalun Lawang (1,156 m) by scanning the QR code of the trekking pass and verifying their passport.
The Rinjani Trekking via Sembalun Route begins with a gentle ascent through local villages, farmland, and wide open savanna grasslands used by local communities for cattle grazing. Along the way, you’ll enjoy clear views of the Sembalun hills and the massive body of Mount Rinjani.
After approximately two hours of walking, you will reach Post I (Pemantauan – 1,300 m), followed by Post II (Tengengean – 1,800 m) where lunch is served with scenic views. The trek then continues to Post III (Padabalong) before entering a steeper trail through a cemara (Casuarina) forest. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Crater Rim Sembalun Campsite (2,639 m), just in time to enjoy sunset views while the crew prepares dinner. Overnight camping here allows you to rest and prepare for the early morning summit attempt.
Your day starts very early, around 02:00 AM, as you prepare for the summit attack of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m). The climb to the summit takes approximately 3–3.5 hours, following a steep and sandy trail along the upper slopes of the mountain. Temperatures can drop to around 4°C, so warm layers, long pants, and a headlamp are essential.
Reaching the summit just before sunrise is an unforgettable moment. From the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views stretching across the Wallace Line, including Bali Island, Mount Agung, and Sumbawa. After enjoying the sunrise and taking photos for about an hour, you’ll descend carefully back to the campsite, passing clusters of edelweiss flowers (Bunga Abadi) along the ridge. A well-earned breakfast awaits you back at camp.
After breakfast, the journey continues downhill to Segara Anak Lake, a scenic descent that takes around 2–2.5 hours. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the valley and Mount Sangkareang, rising proudly on the western side of Rinjani National Park. Upon arrival at the lake, the porters will prepare lunch while your guide leads you to the nearby hot springs. Take time to swim and soak in the warm water, believed by locals to have natural healing properties — a perfect way to relax and recharge. Lunch is served lakeside between 12:00 – 13:00, with views of the active Mount Baru in the middle of the lake.
At around 14:00, after lunch, the trek continues with an ascent toward Crater Rim Senaru. This section takes approximately 3–4 hours, following rocky trails along the cliffs. While challenging, it does not require technical climbing skills or special equipment. As you climb, you’ll enjoy changing perspectives of Segara Anak Lake from above.
You are expected to arrive at Crater Rim Senaru Campsite by late afternoon, ideally before sunset. Relax with a cup of coffee or tea while the crew prepares dinner. On clear days, this campsite offers spectacular views over Segara Anak Lake, the summit of Mount Rinjani, Bali Island, the Gili Islands, and northern Lombok. The scenery here is just as impressive as the summit — but with a completely different angle and atmosphere.
After breakfast at Crater Rim Senaru, the trek continues with a descent through the lush Senaru tropical forest toward Senaru Village (601 m). The trail passes shaded forest paths with several rest stops along the way, offering a cooler and more relaxed walk compared to the previous days.
Under normal conditions, lunch will be prepared at Post 1 Extra, allowing you to recharge before the final stretch. After approximately six hours of walking from the crater rim, the trek officially ends at the Rinjani Trekking Center Office in Senaru.
From here, our driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel or next destination, marking the end of your unforgettable Rinjani Trekking adventure.
