You bring your passport for verification
Note:
If you stay overnight in Sembalun Village, breakfast will be at your hotel. Pickup will be at 08:30 AM, and we will go directly to the National Park registration office.
The trek starts with a gentle ascent through local villages, farmland, and wide open savanna, commonly used by local farmers for cattle grazing. Along the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the rolling Sembalun hills and Mount Rinjani standing proudly ahead.
⚠️ Important Notice:
This section crosses open grassland with strong sun exposure. We highly recommend using sunblock, a hat, and wearing shorts for better comfort, as temperatures can rise quickly.
Post I – Pemantauan (1,300 m):
Reached after about 2 hours of walking from the park gate. This is a short rest area.
Post II – Tengengean (1,800 m):
Less than 1 hour from Post I. Lunch will be served here while enjoying scenic views.
Post III – Padabalong (1,800 m):
Around 1.5 hours from Post II, followed by a more challenging climb.
From Post III, the trail becomes steeper and enters a pine forest (Casuarina trees). Expect around 3–3.5 hours of uphill trekking before reaching Pelawangan Sembalun (Crater Rim) at 2,639 m.
You are expected to arrive at the campsite before sunset, just in time to enjoy breathtaking views over the crater. Relax with a cup of coffee or tea while our trekking crew prepares dinner.
After dinner, you’ll rest at the campsite to recharge your energy, preparing for the early morning summit attack around 2:00 AM the next day.
The adventure starts while the mountain is still asleep. At around 2:00 AM, you’ll wake up at Crater Rim Sembalun, gear up, and get ready for the most exciting part of the trek — the Rinjani summit climb.
With headlamps on and warm layers zipped up, you’ll begin the slow but steady ascent toward the peak. The trail is steep and sandy, and the climb takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. The night air can be freezing, sometimes dropping to around 4°C, so a thick jacket, long pants, and gloves will make a big difference.
Just before sunrise, you’ll finally reach the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m). Standing on the highest point in Lombok is an unforgettable moment. As the sun rises, the sky slowly lights up Bali, Mount Agung, and Sumbawa Island, offering one of the most iconic views in Indonesia. You’ll have around an hour to enjoy the moment, take photos, and soak in the achievement before heading back down.
The descent follows the same ridge, passing clusters of edelweiss flowers, often called the eternal flower. Once back at the campsite, a warm breakfast will be waiting — the perfect reward after the early-morning climb.
After breakfast, the trek continues downhill through the Sembalun route, crossing open savanna, forest paths, and rest posts along the way. The walk down takes around 5 hours, with lunch served at Post II.
By early afternoon, you’ll arrive back in Sembalun Village. After checking out at the Mount Rinjani National Park office, our driver will take you to Senaru Village and then continue the transfer to your next hotel or destination anywhere in Lombok Island.
Your 2 Days 1 Night Rinjani Summit adventure ends here — short in time, but rich in challenge, views, and unforgettable memories.
